Non-Surgical Hair Loss Treatment Options
At Hair Doctors, we want you to know you are cared for by our medical team and will never be left alone, unattended with unqualified technicians performing your procedure. We make sure our patients treatments are individualised, planned and operated with an aim to lower the risks and complications involved. Patient safety, suitability and informed consent are considered as part of each treatment plan.
Hair & Scalp Analysis
We offer in depth scalp and hair analysis using Hair and scalp analysis technology (HairMetrix). The doctor will provide you with a detailed report of your hair density, hair thickness and scalp skin status. This will also enable us to help assess and monitor hair and scalp characteristics over time.
Growth Factor Treatment –
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)
We offer the Growth factor treatment option. Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is second generation growth factor treatment and uses similar principle as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP). However, your doctor can discuss whether this treatment may be suitable for you as it uses a concentrated preparation from the patient’s own blood. Treatment details and suitability can be discussed during consultation.
Alopecia Areata Injections
We offer intralesional cortisone injection directly into the bald patches to suppress your own immune system locally. Evidence shows that this is a treatment option that may be considered for patchy alopecia areata and results vary and treatment response differs between individuals. Local anaesthetic may be used. Individual experiences vary and risks will be discussed during consultation.
Medication
At Hair Doctors we believe in ongoing care and review where clinically appropriate. Androgenetic Alopecia or Male/Female Pattern Baldness is a lifelong progressive condition caused by sensitivity to androgen hormones. They cause hair at the top of your head to thin and fall out over time. Starting early on prescription medications can help slow down the natural progression of Androgenetic Alopecia and may help manage the progression of hair thinning in suitable patients.
