Hair transplant before and after*

The before and after images we show are of real Hair Doctors patients, published with their consent. The results shown are specific to each individual. They are examples only. They are not a guarantee, and they are not a prediction of the result you would get. Outcomes vary depending on a range of factors, including your age, hair type and density, the degree of your hair loss, your general health, how you heal, and whether you use hair loss medication.

The procedures shown carry risks, some of which can be serious. Please read our Risks page before deciding whether a procedure is right for you.

These images have not been edited or enhanced to change the result shown. Where an image is taken at a set time after the procedure, that time is noted with the image. These images are examples of possible outcomes and should not be taken as indicative of the result you can expect.

What We Do

We provide a range of hair restoration treatment options, including hair transplant procedures, for men and women experiencing different types of hair loss. These may include:

FUE Hair TransplantFUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) is a hair transplantation technique that involves extracting individual hair follicles from a donor area and implanting them into areas affected by hair loss or thinning. The procedure is performed as part of an individualised treatment plan following a consultation and clinical assessment.

Hair transplantation may be considered for some individuals experiencing hair loss. The suitability of treatment, expected recovery and long-term outcomes vary between individuals and will be discussed during your consultation.

FAQs

Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is a technique that involves removing individual hair follicles from a donor area and relocating them to areas affected by hair loss. Unlike strip harvesting, FUE does not require removal of a strip of scalp. It may be suitable for some patients depending on their individual circumstances, which is discussed during your consultation as suitability varies. Contact us to arrange a consultation.

Local anaesthetic is used during the procedure to minimise discomfort, and most patients tolerate the procedure well, though experiences vary. You may have some mild soreness afterwards, which can usually be managed with medication as advised by your doctor.

Recovery and hair growth vary between individuals. New growth may begin to become noticeable from around 3 to 4 months after the procedure, with changes continuing to develop over the following months. Final results for hairline work typically develop by around 12 months, and crown work can take up to around 18 months. Your doctor will discuss what to expect based on your circumstances.

The length depends on the number of grafts being transplanted, and typically ranges from [confirm hours]. Contact us for a consultation to receive a personalised treatment plan.

Transplanted follicles are taken from a donor area that is generally resistant to pattern hair loss, so they typically continue to grow following the procedure. Outcomes vary between individuals, and hair that has not been transplanted can continue to thin over time, which your doctor will discuss with you.

Your consultation involves a discussion of your hair loss concerns, goals and medical history with our doctor. We conduct a scalp examination of thinning or balding areas and use HairMetrix, a hair and scalp imaging system, to help create a personalised treatment plan.

Before and After Photo Disclaimer

The before and after images presented on this website illustrate the results of individuals who have undergone hair transplant procedures. Please be aware that results may vary significantly based on several factors, including hair type, density, skin condition, age, overall health, individual immune response, and whether or not patients take prescription hair loss medication.

It is important to note that a hair transplant is considered a minor surgical procedure. While the risk of complications is low, it is essential that these risks are discussed in depth with our team before proceeding. This ensures that you have a comprehensive understanding of the procedure and can make an informed decision.

These images are intended to serve as examples of potential outcomes and should not be construed as guarantees. We encourage you to consult with our team to discuss your specific circumstances and the realistic expectations for your treatment.
