TGA-listed Class 1 Medical Device | ARTG 452745

A doctor-developed at-home scalp microneedling tool. 540 high-strength stainless steel needles in a cross-line arrangement create controlled micro-channels across the scalp, designed to support absorption of topical hair products applied immediately afterwards.

Key features:

  • TGA-listed Class 1 Medical Device (ARTG 452745)
  • 540 high-strength stainless steel needles
  • Cross-line needle arrangement for even scalp coverage
  • Stable, inflexible needles for controlled, consistent contact
  • At-home use, men and women
  • Designed to complement (not replace) prescribed hair loss treatments

How to use:

  1. Wet and comb hair to detangle.
  2. Part hair in sections.
  3. Using gentle pressure, roll back and forth 3 to 4 times horizontally, vertically, and diagonally across each section.
  4. Mild redness or temporary discomfort may occur after use.
  5. After each session:
    • Disinfect the roller head by soaking in 70% isopropyl alcohol for 5 minutes.
    • Rinse thoroughly, air dry, and return to the provided case.
  6. Use once per week, allowing the scalp to recover fully between sessions.
  7. Replace the roller when the needles begin to feel blunt.

How it fits into your routine:

Microneedling creates temporary micro-channels in the upper layers of the skin. These channels are designed to support the absorption of topical products applied directly afterwards, including hair tonics, serums, and any topical medications prescribed by your doctor.

The Hair Doctors Derma Roller is intended as a complementary tool used alongside, not as a replacement for, any hair loss treatments or medications prescribed by your treating clinician (including topical minoxidil, oral therapies, PRP, PRF, exosome treatments, and other in-clinic procedures). Continue your usual treatment plan, and speak with your doctor before adding microneedling to your routine, particularly if you are using topical or oral hair loss medications.

For personalised guidance on whether microneedling is right for you, our nurses offer a free consultation.

Warnings and contraindications:

  • Scalp use only
  • Do not use if you have scalp irritation, active infection, eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis, or open wounds
  • Do not roll over moles, raised lesions, or skin tags
  • Do not share the device, even after disinfection. For personal use only.
  • Avoid use if you have a known metal allergy (including stainless steel)
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Stop use and consult a healthcare professional if redness or irritation persists beyond 24 hours
